It’s Time to Seek the Lord

By Stovall Weems

Personal and corporate prayer is not an act of prying stuff out of God’s hands. Prayer is a privilege and responsibility to partner with God to see ourselves and our world changed through His mighty power.

Let’s take up the call to pray. Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray in Matthew 6:10.

Matthew 6:10 (NLT)
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.

Let’s seek the Lord so His will can be done within us and through us.

God, may Your will be done in:

  • Our families as it is in Heaven
  • Our church as it is in Heaven
  • Our community . . .
  • Our nation . . .
  • Our world . . .

. . . as Your Will is done in Heaven.

It’s time for us to personally and corporately seek the Lord. When you do, seek Him not just for His stuff, but for His presence in your life.

Pastor Stovall I just want to say that a message has never touched the inside of me like it did on this Sunday. I have been praying for answers and guidance and I had not felt that my prayers had been heard. I really felt like when I prayed I was all alone as if no one was there. Thank you because now I realize how much I have had one foot on one side and the other foot on another side. I just never kew how much of a difference my wordly ways was holding me back from what I was looking for spritually. I don’t live an additcted life or anything that serious but just some of our little ways that we carry on in our life that have just always been a normal thing to do now has become the target for why I don’t feel connected the way I needed to be. I suppose in a way he has answered my prayers through you and It was exactly what I needed to hear. You have made such a difference in my life and in how my husband and I live out our marriage. But, I know we need some help still with our focus on god and I just pray that everything that I am working so hard to change will allow us to feel the presence of God working in our family the way I hope for. I think I am a step further than my husband and I pray everyday that he is touching him and guiding him so that we are on the same track every step of the way.

    Thank you so much!

Call on the Lord while He may be found, come to Him while He’s near. Call on the Lord while He may be found – He will wipe away your tears…..We need You, Precious One of God – for our souls faint from hunger, from thirst – without Your vision, we perish – as a people, as a community, as a church. Father God – help us to be strong, and not faint. Fill us with the courage and strength and determination to serve You with gladness, receiveing in exchange a renewed mind and Christ’s joyous confidence of purpose and power. All we like sheep continually stray and need Your tender care, your compassionate mercies lest we, too, become consumed by the tibulations of this world you so wisely placed us in. We know, Jesus, that You have overcome this world, and in You alone, we have our peace. Bring us your peace – the quietness and confidence produced only by Your righteousness – keep our hearts at rest as we trust in you – cause to know that it is only in You that our labor is not in vain. Make us steadfat, immoveable, always abounding in Your works, oh God – consume us and refine us with the fires of love and mercy, that Your very zeal, oh Lord God of Hosts, would spill out and over us upon the souls of men and women we see and serve each day. Please impart to them through us, Father, your love and peace, that they may come to know and believe the love You have for them in Christ Jesus Our Lord, for this we ask, believe and joyfully receive – Jesus’s precious name.

    Pastor,
I am reminded of what to pray for during this season of prayer and fasting. I lead a men’s group on Tuesday night, we base the group on your messages. Yesterday, we talked about using fasting and prayer to draw near to GOD. There are 14 men that attend, and if you could see the affect the group is having on the lives of these men, you would get fired up.
We talked at length yesterday about how we know when we are away from GOD’s presence, and how we can use fasting to draw closer to Him.
The application of God’s word is put into practice through the group, and prayer is a huge part of that. We pass out a prayer request sheet every week, then I summarize the requests and send them out via email so we can pray over them throughout the week. A good pecentage of the requests have to do with relationships with the Lord and getting God involved in their lives. It is encouraging to see that we are lining up with your vision.
I pray the Lord show me how my circumstances(good or bad) can be used to glorify GOD. This gives me peace during the storm because I
