Choose Well
By Stovall Weems
When making a choice put it through the God grid:
What do the scriptures say?
It is amazing how many times we make a choice based on emotions or “following our heart” instead of what is clear in God’s Word.
Is this acting in love?
There might not be anything directly against it in scripture but does it benefit and help others or only you? How is this choice going to affect your family, friends, and relationships with others in the community? If you are a pastor how is it going to affect your relationship with other churches and leaders in the community?
Does this fit my purpose?
Are you sure this fits your purpose in this current season? Is the timing right? Are you settling for a good thing instead of God’s best for you?
A good leader understands that in every yes there is an inherent no. And that every choice has a consequence or reward, even the small ones. Choose well!

Choose Well is an awesome message! It brings together 3 important questions that I will ask myself, and pray, prior to making a choice!
Great Word Pastor, especially the part where Satan knows the Word.
If Jesus had to speak the Word, how much more important is it for us to know it and SPEAK it?
Jesus could have thought in His head “it is written” however the reason He spoke it is so the enemy would know that He knew it !
Certainly a great example for us all to follow..
Stovall:
Saw you are speaking at a Rick Warren event in late May. Looking forward to watching the webcast. Praying for your influence at the event.
Thanks for posting this!! Jesus had to deal with all three of those things. That’s very encouraging to think about.
Last week’s message was great. When my opinions do not match with the written Scriptures I have to remind myself that I am outside the God grid. A few days ago, a friend of mine who is not a Christian told me that he was stressed about not knowing the purpose of life. When I shared the Gospel with him he replied ‘different things work for different people’. I am praying that my friend finds Jesus who is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Pastor,
When I make the decision without the “God grid”, it almost without fail ends up in calamity. I think of King Saul, or King Solomon and how it ended up for them when they made decisions outside of God’s Grid.
Great Word

Pastor Stovall – I think you building the God Grid on the Temptation of Christ is powerful, practical and portable. I immediately integrated your teaching into my heart, repeatedly use it and jofully share it with others. I praise God for your diligence and faithfulness to pursue Jesus and pass on what you discover as you press in!
Blessings and love,
Craig
