Honoring What We Do Not Yet Have

By Stovall Weems

The kingdom of heaven was intended to be diverse. God created us all different, and we each have our unique way of doing things. But as we move towards what God has called us to do, it is very important that we maintain honor towards where we are heading and what we don’t yet have. There’s a leadership principle directly connected to this, and it’s this: You will not receive what you do not respect.

We must not allow comparison and a judgmental spirit to take root in our hearts. This only causes division, and God will not honor that. We must honor and respect those ahead of us; those who are working alongside us and also those who are coming up behind us, even if they all do things differently than we would.

    Pastor,
Great word, I think we all need to be reminded that not everyone works in the same way. We were all created differently which means we work in different ways. We were all created in his image and in the body of Christ we have the same purpose. Our differences will work together for the same outcome.
I think that is one of the main reasons people are drawn to Celebration. We are not afraid to be different or accept people who are different.

I’m so glad that God did not create us all the same. It’s those differences that create an entire Body! We must accept that we are not all hands and feet. Some of us are toes in the body helping to create stability at the foundation. It is wrong to believe that all believers must look or act a certain way. I truly believe that Celebrations honors our differences!

Yes. I believe it is true with me to imagine I am in my leader’s shoes and how I would want to be treated by my subordinates. God is so good and I thank him for where I am. And yes, patience is running thin to move up, but I just have to focus on “one up” and “one down” – people above and people below me.

    Thank you and God bless.
