FAQ’s of Life: Questions About Finances and Stress
By Stovall Weems
Tonight, we’re continuing in our FAQ’s of Life series as we answer your questions about finances and stress.
There have been several great questions submitted on this topic. I’m looking forward to answering those tonight, but it’s not too late to still submit your questions. What specifically would you like for me to answer in regards to finances and stress?
In addition to Q & A tonight, we’re going to be sharing some useful information on budgeting, how to exercise wisdom in our finances, and providing you with some tools to take home and help put some of this into practice.
Don’t miss this one and remember, send your questions in!
Stovall

Thanks for your questions and comments everyone. I will try and answer as many as I can tonight.
Erik – yes- we are putting together a resource that has all the Q and A answers. It is going to be a real help to people.
What is the difference between Tithes and Offerings?
If you are a commissioned based Independent Contractor, do you tithe on the net or the gross?
Is it ok for your tithe to go directly to people that you know that are in need or does your tithe need to always go directly to the church?
Hey Pastor,
Have you guys considered documenting this Q&A series in some sort of Quick Reference Guide?
From the looks of it this Guide could get a lot of use. Might even want to consider Quick Referece Tabs. Similar to Billy Graham’s Christian Worker’s Handbook.
Wouldn’t necessarily be a coffee table book, but would make a great gift to a teenager or newly engaged couple for counsel advise. Just a thought.
Also, proceeds could help some other cause. 7000 copies at $10 a book….now we are talkin’….maybe single mother’s ministry….Go God!!!
God bless you and your team for tackling a much needed topic(2) in today’s culture.
Pastor Stovall,
I have not been working for almost years now. I had been giving tithe whenever I can. Someone told me that I should never tithe on money given to me to help me with living. Now I am puzzled by this. People on disability and social security need to tithe, am I right?
Pastor Stovall,
I read in the Lords Prayer where Jesus Said Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Does this mean that we have to forgive the people and organizations who brought about the crisis, and how do we go about it? What way do you recommend to approach business associates who need healing for the deep resentment they have at this time?
My husband and I found out about some families at church that were in need. I thought we could give them a gift card anonymously. My husband and I were discussing how much to give them. He suggested to give them the amount that we were going to tithe. Then divide it between them. Would that still be considered tithing? or does it have to be given straight to a church or ministry? I know the church helps people in need but, I think sometimes people are to embarresed to ask the church. I feel like I’m part of the church as a whole and want to give to those in need. Especially when God has blessed me and I am able to bless others because of it.
