This Weekend
By Stovall Weems
This weekend, I’m going to preach one of the most powerful messages I have ever preached in my 10 years of being a pastor. I hope you can make it, because it’s going to be an incredible weekend!
Also, just a reminder – tonight, the sanctuary at our Midtown Campus and our Orange Park Campus will be open for prayer from 7-8pm. There will not be live worship or childcare, but if you’d like some time to just get alone with God, stop by.
As you continue in this season of prayer and fasting, please remember the 4 prayer points for Awakening. We’re asking that all churches and believers participating in Awakening to generally pray for these 4 things on a regular basis:
1. All the churches participating in Awakening – That we would have maximum effectiveness in advancing the Kingdom of God in 2009 and that God would do everything He wants to do in our churches and ministries.
2. Believers in the churches participating in Awakening – We are praying for the believers in your churches and their individual prayer requests.
3. The Body of Christ – That as a whole, the Body of Christ would be all that God wants us to be in 2009.
4. Pastors and Spiritual Leaders – That we would be men and women after God’s own heart and live a life worthy of the Gospel.

Thank you so much for tonight’s message! I found it extremely powerful, and as usual, in perfect time with this season of my life. During this fast, I have found it difficult not to let thoughts creep in… what if God doesn’t answer my prayers? What if I “chose” to pray and fast for the wrong things? Now I see so clearly: it is not about unanswered prayers, it is about preparation. And if the truth is told, even *I* know I’m not prepared to have this prayer answered, so how much more does God know that? Now I know I need to keep pressing in, keep praying, because it’s not that I’m praying for the wrong things, things that God won’t answer, it’s that there is SO much more in store for me that the Lord is planning in my life. Thank you! If tomorrow’s message is going to be even more powerful, those Sunday worshipers are in for a treat!
Pastor I’m looking forward to it! I’ve always appreciated your willingness to be used by God.
This Wednesday you dropped a golden nugget in our laps and in case anyone missed it I wanted to repeat it. As either new or even mature believers the enemy of our soul will try to give us reason to “take offense” or be “offend” with others. I wanted to encourage all the “fasters” to be mindful of this tactic that has been employed since Genesis 3:13. I believe the reason we should not be led by our feelings is because all too often we will justify bad behavior based on how we felt about someone or something.
