Dear Pastor Stovall,

As always, I enjoyed your handling of a tough subject last week. I must share with you from a woman's perspective, quality is always better than quantity!

Thanks,

Hi Jen! This is Nicole, and I’m on staff here at Celebration. I just wanted to respond to your comment about young married’s. Celebration offers many opportunities for married couples to join a group weather seeking to develop skills to enhance your marriage through our School of Life classes such as “Making Marriage Better”, “Marriage on the Rock” and “Our Secret Paradise”. We also offer message based groups that meet weekly to study the weekend message and discuss practical ways to apply the principles to your daily life. We welcome couples of all ages to participate in any of our groups but also offer group options for our young married couples that wish to meet others in the same stage of life. I would be happy to help you get connected into the marrieds groups, just call me at the church, or drop me an email. (737-1121 or nphillips@celebration.org)

Pastor Stovall, Thank you so much for your message this weekend. Marriage is under attack in the world we live in today, especially young marriages. Out of curiosity I looked up divorce rates and found from the CDC's website that the divorce percent is the highest among people in their 20's. That is a scary statistic. Your message could not come at a better time. There are so many temptations for young couples that pull them away from each other and the Lord. I would love to see the young married couples in the Church pull together and refuse to become an addition to the statistic! I notices there is not currently anything specifically for young marrieds... what do we need to do to get it started?

Pastor Stovall Weems, your message yesterday couldn't have come at a better time. My husband is in the navy and has been stationed in Tampa for 8 months, so I and the kids stayed here in Jacksonville. With him being in Tampa he has his own apartment with accommodations, while i just hired a male personal trainer. Because of your message yesterday i have guidelines in which to follow i.e. no dry sauna or world pool alone after our workout; during the workout we are not to discuss either one of our marriages with each other. Thanks so much for giving us the tools to safeguard our marriage.

Pastor Stovall,

Thank you so much for preaching about what people NEED to hear...It is a very tough message for a lot of people to deal with, so we need to pray that God reaches everyone during this series & does His work in their lives.

Having been through divorce and now helping others through my pain, I hope & pray that people toughen up & get right with God. No matter what kind of pain & hurt, God will walk through it with you as long as you hold His hand through the tough times.

Thanks for following God's direction in the messages that you bring forth to share with us. God is doing a great thing through our weekend messages, and the more relevant & real-life they are, the more they will change lives.

I recommend that anyone that needs help, gets it. If you think that you can go through the toughest times in your life without being connected to others for encouragement and life-giving help, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Give up your pride & ask for help....You need it. Call the church, join a group, get counseling (Christian)...Whatever it takes.

It is only by going through the valley WITH God that we can get to the other side...Sitting in the middle of it does you no good.

Blessings to all!!!

First of all I want say that was a great message this weekend. Thank you for be brave enough to tackle this issue. Next week will you talk about Matthew 5:28 - anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Will you talk about how addictions to porn can lead to affairs. Not mention how it can ruin a marriage and scar your spouse.
After hearing your message today, I couldn't stop thinking about Bathsheba and the role she played in the situation. I believe that she knew that she would be seen bathing naked. I believe she did that on purpose. Just like how women today dress provocatively to draw men (married and single) to them. Why do so many women sell themselves short. I am so sick of the barrage of images of naked or almost naked women everywhere. Women need to stand up and say enough is enough!!

I would love you to be able to use my testimony if you think it would be of some help to others.
I am from Redmond, WA and I relocated to Jacksonville, on the recommendation of my nephew.
I was married for 15 years. I had two girls that were grown, and God blessed me with a man of God with 4 little ones. I raised his children, and we started having grandchildren; 7 and one is due for the 8th in June of this year. We had a huge Remodel Business. It started out with our partners as doing extreme makeovers. It was very successful, and so we went into the Remodel Arena.
We designed and did everything together. We were involved in our church The City Church, Pastor Wendell Smith; for 16 years. A Red flag to me was when he would no longer take me with him to do the estimates. It was during the day or night.
He also hired a designer, an architect, and we had lots of crew members. Another red flag was when our partners, the wife would stay up all night on the phone with my husband to go over the finances or a work order. Neither her husband or myself thought it to be appropreiate. When confronted, they said it was the only time available to discuss these things. Because she stayed up all night taking orders from my husband, I would then be chosen to watch the kids during the day. It wasn't that they had sex it was an emotional attachment. Our business grew leaps and bounds, until the money went to our partners head. When we first formed our partnership my husband and her husband did alot of things together. Then they got busy and there was no accountability. I asked for help from the church, and received none. I bought him a G3, and he gave me his old Iphone; he forgot to delete some of his sent items. He was involved in pornography & prostitution. When I saw what was on his iphone, I pulled the AT&T records and it was very clear that he was in deep. I went into shock when I found out, and moved in with my daughter and son-in-law. He never said he was sorry, he never repented. When I called the Pastor to let them know they ignored me for weeks and did nothing. Our partners were also involved. I think they had a business going on the side. All I can say to those out there be accountable. I am a PK kid and I praise the Lord for my foundation. That is why I love this church, because you are not afraid to talk about and to help people to know the issues. I love that there are so many programs to help people.
Thanks again for standing up for what is right, no matter what. I did! I lost all of my material things, even my dog and cat. But I would do it again if it meant standing for what is right no matter what the cost. Jesus did!!
