Are They Heard?
By David Branker
bq. Matthew 21:15-16 The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.” But the leaders were indignant. They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.’” NLT
How fitting. This is the passage where Jesus is reestablishing order in the temple. Jesus has just cleansed the temple; the blind and lame are brought to him and are healed. Yet, in the midst of all of these miracles something even more remarkable is happening. The children break out in praise. Notice, the response of the religious, self-centered leaders – “So the religious leaders’ inquired. “Do you hear what these children are saying?” Jesus answers “Yes.” When the children praised, it got Jesus’ attention and affirmation.
You see – God’s House should always be a place where the voices of the next generation are heard and their presence celebrated. In His house, they should not only be taught about God, but they should have an opportunity to experience Him for themselves. Praise always follows a touch from above.
Question: Has the next generation been relegated to a side room or are their voices being heard in our churches? What would be said of us?

AWWWW YEAH!!
Great observation, Pastor David!
I would have to say yes our next generation is heard and we are doing our part as a church to make sure that the children of Celebration have a chance to connect with God. We as a church care about every Adult, Child ,and baby that comes through our doors. We also give the next generation the opportunity to become leaders and supporters for not only this generation but those to come… Celebration is my families church home and we love it….
God is raising up the next generation of leaders, warriors and worshippers and I am so thankful to be a part of a church that hears the heart of God and responds accordingly! Just look at the testimonies from Submerge!
